Job Summary:

Junior Legal Counsel based in Zambia on a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of a permanent role based on performance.

Provide legal support primarily for CST bid contracts across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate CST-related contracts across the region.

Legal Advisory:

  • Flag potential legal issues in CST bid contracts and propose solutions.

Authority:

Accountability:

The Junior Legal Counsel is accountable to the Director-Strategic Clients Group Sub-Saharan Africa, for the responsibilities as stated in the job description. These responsibilities will be monitored and managed through mid-year and annual performance reviews and supported through the monitoring of the KPIs.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Admission to the Bar in Zambia.
  • 2-4 years of relevant legal experience in contract management, corporate law, or commercial law.
  • Experience working with international companies is a plus.
