GardaWorld is growing—and we're looking for an experienced and engaging Advanced Security Training (AST) Instructor to join our Security Services team in Vancouver!
In this full-time role, you'll play a vital part in developing the next generation of security professionals by delivering high-quality Advanced Security Training (AST), Use of Force Training (UoF), and scenario-based learning experiences. You'll travel between GardaWorld sites across the Lower Mainland, providing dynamic classroom instruction and hands-on practical training that prepares our security professionals to respond confidently and safely in real-world situations.
Working closely with Operations, Recruitment, and Leadership, you'll travel throughout the Lower Mainland delivering engaging classroom instruction, practical skills development, and operational training that supports one of Canada's largest private security organizations

Advanced Security Training (AST) Instructor key responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging Advanced Security Training (AST), Use of Force Training (UoF), orientation, refresher, and specialized security training programs to new and existing employees
- Facilitate realistic, scenario-based training exercises that develop critical thinking, communication, de-escalation, and incident response skills
- Travel between GardaWorld client locations to conduct in-person training sessions as required
- Evaluate student performance through written exams, practical assessments, and competency evaluations while providing constructive coaching and feedback
- Ensure all training is delivered in accordance with provincial legislation, licensing requirements, company policies, and industry best practices
- Maintain accurate training records, certifications, attendance, and reporting documentation
- Promote a safe, professional, and engaging learning environment that encourages participation and continuous improvement
- Partner with Operations, Recruitment, and leadership teams to identify training needs and support employee development initiatives
- Assist with the continuous improvement of training programs, lesson plans, and instructional materials to ensure they remain current and operationally relevant
- Act as a subject matter expert and ambassador for GardaWorld's commitment to safety, professionalism, and exceptional customer service
What you bring:
- Certified Advanced Security Training (AST) Instructor designation or eligibility to become certified
- Experience delivering Use of Force (UoF) training or willingness to obtain instructor certification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, corrections, or another public safety environment
- Previous experience delivering instructor-led training, coaching, or adult education is highly preferred
- Strong presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage learners of all experience levels
- Ability to confidently deliver both classroom instruction and practical, hands-on training exercises
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple training sessions across various locations
- Valid BC Security Worker Licence
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a willingness to travel between training locations
- Clean criminal background check
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
