Responsibilities for Casual Security Guard
- Protect people, property, and assets by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Conduct interior and exterior patrols to identify security risks, safety hazards, or suspicious activity.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials, and control entry and exit of employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Respond confidently to incidents, emergencies, alarms, and potential threats while following established procedures.
- Monitor CCTV, surveillance systems, and security equipment where required.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting employees, clients, tenants, and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
- Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
- Collaborate with emergency responders, law enforcement, and site management when required.
- Enforce site policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Provide concierge, reception, or front-desk security services at customer-facing locations, where applicable.
- Perform alarm response, lock-up/unlock procedures, key control, and security checks as assigned.
- Support emergency evacuations and business continuity procedures when required.
- Operate security technology and communication equipment to maintain situational awareness.
- Carry out additional duties and specialized responsibilities depending on the client site, including retail loss prevention, mobile patrols, corporate security, industrial security, healthcare, aviation, critical infrastructure, event security, or other site-specific operational requirements.
Qualifications for Casual Security Guard
- Be authorized to work in Canada
- Hold a valid BC security license
- First aid certification - an asset
- BC Driver's licence - an asset
- Ability to work/pick up minimum 3 shifts per month
- Ability to think quickly and adapt to changing situations
- Strong problem-solving skills
