Responsibilities:

• Delivering comprehensive first aid training, ensuring guards meet certification requirements, and maintaining records of training and instructor competency, all while adhering to BC Standards
• Use various teaching methods, including demonstrations, hands-on practice, and scenario-based site learning, to ensure all guards gain practical skills and knowledge. scenario-based drills of real-life emergency situations.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate records of training and certification, including attendance, course completion, and instructor competency assessments.
• Training and preparation of our staff on face to face first aid situations
• Random duty of care site assessments on a regular basis regarding first aid response
• Hands on instruction of critical airway & breathing and circulatory interventions with C-spine management and small wound, soft tissue, and fracture management instruction
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines are met
• Ensure that the training program and facilities meet the requirements of BC’s First Aid Program Standards
•  Stay current with the latest first aid practices and provincial regulations

Requirements:

• Occupational First Aid Instructor Level certification a must
• Occupational first aid instructor experience (2-5 years) a must
• Experience in the Security industry an asset
• Confident in speaking to groups of people and demonstrating exemplary first aid skills and adult learning practices
• Current Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA2) certification
• Excellent interpersonal skills to create a comfortable environment where people can learn and feel relaxed enough to ask questions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable in using a computer (for example, MS PowerPoint) for course delivery and other related administrative tasks
• Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable transportation

Ability to commute:

• Must reside in the Vancouver BC and lower mainland area
