Responsibilities for Hotel Security Guard
- Customer service duties like welcome, check identification, and guide visitors
- Manage access control
- Conduct foot patrols to identify potential risks
- Inspect security equipment and report any maintenance needs
- Address incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams
- Write incident reports and communicate security concerns
- Monitor the hotel entrance and maintain a visible security presence.
- Identify and remove unauthorized or disruptive individuals in a professional manner.
- Use handcuffs only as a last resort when escorting individuals off-site.
- Ensure continuous lobby coverage
- Limit cellphone use to required hourly check-ins with Garda Control; headphones/earbuds are not permitted during shifts.
Qualifications for Hotel Security Guard
- Be authorized to work in Canada
- Hold a valid BC security license
- Advanced Security Training (AST) Certificate - Required
- First aid certification - an asset
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Minimum 6 months of security experience
- Strong report writing and technology skills
- Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus
- Physically able to stand, patrol and walk for extended periods
- Alert, detail-oriented, with strong situational awareness
- Proficient in basic phone & computer skills
