As an Equipment Watch and Construction Security Guard, you will play a critical role in safeguarding construction equipment, materials, and property while ensuring that only authorized personnel, contractors, and visitors enter the site. Through proactive patrols, continuous monitoring, and effective access control procedures, you will help prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access. Your ability to identify potential security risks, enforce site policies, and respond professionally to incidents will contribute to maintaining a safe and secure work environment for everyone on site.

Responsibilities for Construction Security Guard

Conduct regular patrols of the construction site to safeguard equipment, materials, and property from theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activity.

Verify identification and maintain strict access control, ensuring only authorized personnel, contractors, and visitors enter the site.

Monitor construction equipment, storage areas, and site perimeters, reporting any security concerns or suspicious activity immediately.

Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and vehicle access logs in accordance with site procedures.

Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies, and document all observations and actions taken.

Perform site inspections to ensure gates, fences, locks, and other security measures remain secure and operational.

Coordinate with site management, law enforcement, or emergency services when required to address security-related incidents.
Qualifications for Construction Security Guard
- Be authorized to work in Canada
- Hold a valid BC security license
- First aid certification - an asset
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift
- Alert, detail-oriented, with strong situational awareness
- Demonstrated ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations
- Strong report writing skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
