Responsibilities for Distribution Centre Security Guard

• Conduct regular interior and exterior checkpoint patrols to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Monitor and control all gate access, ensuring only authorized vehicles and personnel enter the site.
• Verify incoming trailers and vehicles, ensuring they are directed to the correct dock, address, or designated area.
• Monitor alarm systems and respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activities.
• Complete accurate daily and weekly security reports, including incident documentation and observations.
• Perform continuous CCTV and camera surveillance, reporting any unusual or unauthorized activity.
• Manage and secure emergency exit gates to ensure compliance with safety and security procedures.
• Issue, monitor, and maintain access cards while tracking lost, damaged, or unauthorized card usage.
• Verify staff and contractor clearances, control site access, and maintain detailed access records.
• Conduct environmental and safety checks, including monitoring for water leaks, unusual airflow, abnormal noises, safety hazards, and tracking warehouse entry/exit activity, hi-vis vest compliance, and incident reporting.

Qualifications for Distribution Centre Security Guard

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid security license
• First aid certification (Asset) 
• Strong report writing skills
• Good eyesight and excellent ability to maintain focus
• Strong proficiency with technology
• Ability to stand and walk throughout shift
