As a Downtown Office Tower Security Guard, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling around the full site to provide safety.

Responsibilities for Downtown Office Security Guard
- Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of the property
- Monitor critical areas for suspicious activity or safety concerns
- Maintain a visible presence at the security desk during assigned hours
- Manage and control access to restricted areas
- Verify identification and enforce site access protocols
- Perform checks of mechanical rooms, utility rooms, and building systems
- Record utility meter readings as required
- Monitor stairwells, entrances, parking areas, and common areas for safety and cleanliness
- Respond promptly to alarms and conduct on-site investigations
- React quickly and appropriately to incidents, documenting all actions taken
- Complete daily security reports, logs, and checklists
- Provide professional assistance and customer service to tenants and visitors
- Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents
Qualifications for Downtown Office Security Guard
- Valid Manitoba Security Guard License (required)
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Minimum 1–2 years of security experience preferred (commercial, retail, or office environment an asset)
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact professionally with tenants, visitors, and clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write clear and detailed incident reports and daily logs
- Comfortable conducting regular interior and exterior patrols, including stairwells and mechanical areas
- Physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods
- Ability to remain calm and respond effectively to emergencies or high-pressure situations
- Experience managing access control and verifying identification
- Basic knowledge of alarm systems, CCTV, and security monitoring systems
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with site teams and law enforcement when required
- Professional appearance and commitment to confidentiality
