As a Fire Watch Security Guard, the primary focus is on fire prevention and life safety. You are responsible for continuously monitoring the premises, identifying potential fire hazards, ensuring fire protection systems and exits remain clear and accessible, and responding promptly to any signs of smoke, fire, or unsafe conditions. This role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to act calmly and decisively in emergency situations, often while working independently across sites such as construction areas, commercial buildings, or temporarily unprotected facilities. This is a temporary long term coverage

Responsibilities for Fire Watch Security Guard

• Customer service duties like welcome, check identification, and guide visitors

• Conducting regular patrols of the building or assigned areas

• Watching for fire hazards such as smoke, fire, or unsafe conditions

• Responding immediately if fire or smoke is detected by calling 911 and following site procedures

• Maintaining a Fire Watch log (patrol times, observations, incidents)

• Notifying building management and emergency services as required

• Maintaining a visible presence for safety and compliance

Qualifications for Fire Watch Security Guard

• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid Manitoba security license
• First aid certification an asset
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Proficient in basic phone & computer skills
