As a Hospital Fire Watch Security Guard, you will be the person spotting threats before they escalate in the hospital.

Responsibilities for Hospital Fire Watch Security Guard
• Conduct continuous patrols of assigned areas to monitor for fire hazards, ensure exits remain clear, and identify any unsafe conditions.
• Monitor fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, hoses, alarms, and sprinkler systems, ensuring they are accessible and appear operational.
• Immediately report any fire hazards, unsafe conditions, or suspicious activity to the supervisor or site management.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patrols, observations, and incidents in the fire watch logbook.
• Follow all hospital safety policies and procedures, including respecting restricted areas and patient-sensitive zones.
• Maintain communication with the control room or security supervisor throughout the shift.
Qualifications for Hospital Fire Watch Security Guard
Qualifications
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Valid Manitoba Security Guard License (as required by the province)

First Aid/CPR Certification required or considered an asset

Previous security, fire watch, or safety monitoring experience considered an asset

Ability to work in a healthcare environment, following hospital policies and procedures

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while conducting continuous patrols
