As a Security Supervisor, you will be leading a team of guards, ensuring that security operations run smoothly and providing exceptional customer service. You will work with people from all shifts in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities for Library Security Supervisor
- Provide visible leadership and maintain a professional security presence throughout the site.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and stressful situations.
- Supervise and support Security Guards, ensuring compliance with site procedures and standards.
- Manage access control, including operating metal detection gates and welcoming visitors.
- Oversee use of security systems such as CCTV, access control, and alarm panels.
- Collaborate with library staff, Community Safety Hosts, and Crisis Workers to address issues, resolve conflicts, and promote a safe environment.
- Ensure completion of opening/closing procedures, including securing doors, elevators, and alarm systems.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and visitor/contractor records.
- Provide excellent customer service, offering assistance and directions to the public
Qualifications for Library Security Supervisor
- Be authorized to work in Canada
- This supervisor position is a key step, but certainly not the last.
- Excellent leadership skills
- First aid certification an asset
- Hold a valid Manitoba security license
- Proven experience in security or supervisory roles
- Strong skills in conflict de-escalation, trauma-informed safety practises, anti-racism, and cultural awareness
- Positive attitude, and strong customer service skills
