Responsibilities for Recovery Healthcare Security Guard
- Facility Patrols: Regularly check the building and surrounding grounds to ensure doors, windows, and access points are secure.
- Access Control: Monitor and control who enters and exits the facility, ensuring only authorized staff, clients, and visitors enter.
- Monitoring: Keep an eye on security cameras, alarm systems, and emergency exits.
- Incident Response: Respond to emergencies such as medical issues, disturbances, or fire alarms. Notify management or emergency services as needed.
- Client Safety: Ensure the safety of clients and staff, maintaining a calm and professional presence.
- Documentation: Maintain logs of patrols, incidents, and any unusual observations throughout the shift.
- Rule Enforcement: Ensure clients follow facility rules, intervening when necessary but in a non-confrontational manner.
Qualifications for Recovery Healthcare Security Guard

Valid Manitoba Security Guard License (as required by the province)

First Aid/CPR Certification required or considered an asset

Previous security, healthcare, shelter, or customer service experience considered an asset

Experience monitoring security cameras (CCTV) and responding to alarm systems

Strong observation and situational awareness skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with clients, staff, and visitors

Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emergency situations

Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities

Ability to write clear and accurate incident and shift reports

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during patrols
