As a Security Training Specialist at GardaWorld you will play a crucial role in shaping and refining the skills of our security personnel. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated individual with a proven track record in security guard training. This position involves developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive training programs to ensure our security team is well-prepared and equipped to handle a variety of situations across the Prairies!

What does a Security Trainer Specialist do?
- Develop and implement a method of measuring the effectiveness of the training programs.
- Conduct and facilitate training sessions, presenting information clearly and concisely to various audiences. In-person or virtual.
- Ensure that laws and regulations that might affect the services are reviewed and changes are implemented as necessary.
- Prepare compliance reports and identify areas for improvement associated with contract-specific policies, practices, and procedures.
- Coordinate, develop, deliver, and manage vendor personnel training and development programs; conduct needs assessments; identify training needs; develop and/or customize training courses, content, and materials; oversee and deliver training; evaluate effectiveness; and adjust as necessary to improve training and outcomes.
- Collaborating with other departments within the GardaWorld branch.
- Travelling across the prairies to conduct training courses on a needed basis by branch.
Qualifications to become a Security Trainer Specialist:
- Has a flexible work schedule (the candidate would need to be available to work 40 hours/week but days, evenings, weekends, and weekdays)
- Certification in a recognized Use of Force/Human Factors program and previous experience delivering effective training
- Instructor certification in Verbal Judo, Management of Aggressive Behavior, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or equivalent is considered an asset.
- 1 year of experience in instructing
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to deliver course material in a way can be understood.
- Provincial accreditation to teach Basic Security Training Program or wiling to obtain
- Mental Health First Aid is an asset
- Reliable vehicle and driver’s license
- Clean criminal background check
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
