As a Tactical Security Guard, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, security facility centers, etc.

- P1: x2 Monday-Friday 0800-1500
- P2: x2 Monday-Friday 1500-2100
- P3: x2 Saturday 0800-1500 & Sunday 0800-1800

Responsibilities for Tactical Retail Security Guard

- Maintain a strong, visible security presence throughout your shift
- Deter and prevent theft, violent incidents, and disorderly conduct
- Monitor customer activity for suspicious behaviour while maintaining professionalism
- Ensure the safety of employees, customers, and property
Access & Monitoring
- Control and monitor store entry and exit points
- Observe CCTV systems and report suspicious or criminal activity
- Conduct regular patrols with a focus on high-risk areas
Incident Response
- Respond promptly to incidents including theft, aggressive behaviour, and trespassing
- Use verbal de-escalation as the primary response
- Escalate incidents to store management and/or police when required
- Follow company policy regarding non-pursuit outside the store
Reporting & Communication
- Complete accurate incident reports, occurrence reports, and shift logs
- Communicate all incidents to store management and GardaWorld supervisors
- Ensure all reporting is clear, factual, and completed before end of shift
Qualifications for Tactical Retail Security Guard

Valid Manitoba Security Guard License (required)

Use of Force certification is an asset (or willingness to obtain)

First Aid & CPR certification is an asset

Previous experience in retail, tactical, or high-visibility security preferred

Strong verbal communication and de-escalation skills

Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive in high-pressure situations

Demonstrated ability to identify suspicious behavior and respond appropriately

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, public-facing environment

Strong report writing and documentation skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Reliable, punctual, and able to adhere to strict schedules and post orders

Physically able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
