We are currently recruiting a Performance Manger for Winnipeg International Airport on a permanent full-time basis.

 

Reporting to the Operations Managers, the Performance Manager is responsible for directed oversight on screening positions, procedures and officer conduct as governed by GardaWorld and CATSA’s SOPs, procedures, policies and programs. Our Performance Managers undergo specialized training, both in class and on-the-job, in order to acquire the knowledge required for screening operations and aviation security. 

 


Responsibilities

  • Conducts Directed Oversight on uniform adherence, screening positions, procedures and officer conduct as governed by GardaWorld and CATSA's SOPs, procedures, policies and programs
  •  Documents data to measure SOP compliance and Screening Officer performance. Highlights issues, inconsistencies, and trends in scorecard data to assist departments with continuous improvement and root-cause analysis and internal Performance Improvement Plans
  • Participate in GardaWorld Performance Committee (GPC) meetings. Assist with the development, issuance and tracking of Corrective Action Plans based on GPC outcomes
  • Conduct Performance Partnership Reviews (PPR) Screening Officers ( probationary, 30/60/90 and 180 day reviews and annual reviews)  
  • Observe and provide coaching, correction and overall feedback to Screening Officers
  • Intervene, discipline or coach/correct immediately  as required
  • Conduct all internal investigations and associated reports for all events such as, but not limited human resource events, security events and attendance events
  • Issue discipline including verbal warning, written warnings, suspensions, terminations and grievance settlements
  • Contribute to GardaWorld Effectiveness Plan (GEP)
  • Supports recognition of employees. (Ex. GardaStars nominated through GardaWorld.me)
  • Interviews, selects and hires Screening Personnel with support from HR
  • Conducting Shift Briefings
  • Communicate with the wider GardaWorld team, CATSA, airport SOC etc.
  • Ensures screening equipment is properly completed.
  • Ensures controlled uniform items and equipment are secured
  • Other duties as required

Requirements

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident
  • No previous criminal background for which a pardon has not been granted
  • Available to work and commute day and night shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related position or field
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance and successfully complete a background check
  • Physical requirements include but are not limited to standing for long periods of time

  • Effective communicator with the ability to listen attentively and maintain respectful and cooperative relationships with passengers, employees and co-workers
  • Leadership necessary to handle on-the-spot decisions and ability to act calmly under pressure
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills that promote commitment to action
  • Highly organized and results driven individual who is able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work within a structured, highly regulated environment
  • Full fluency in English

 

Assets:

  • Previous experience in a unionized environment
  • Previous experience in a service delivery environment with multiple customers and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators and Quality Control
  • Aviation Security knowledge and/or experience
  • Fluency in French

 

Additional Notes

  • Travel may be required for training. Other travel may be requested when assistance is required at other airports
