Package

GardaWorld will provide the Independent Contractor with appropriate accommodation, insurance, flights and life support while on duty.

Food, Accommodation and General Expenses:

Company will provide the Contractor with food, drink, transportation and accommodation as necessary whilst the Contractor is engaged in a project.

If Company is unable to provide the Contractor with food, accommodation and transportation, except as set forth below for inbound and outbound travel to the project location, Company shall either provide a per diem at an agreed rate or reimburse to the Contractor for any travelling, hotel and other expenses reasonably incurred by him in the proper performance of his duties under this Agreement. In the case of the latter, the Contractor must provide Company with such vouchers and receipts or other evidence of actual payment of such expenses as Company may reasonably require. The Contractor shall seek the prior approval by Company for any individual expenses incurred under this Agreement.

Flight Package

GardaWorld will provide an economy class return ticket per rotation to the project location from a hub airport as close as reasonably practicable to the Contractor’s declared home address.

The Contractor will be asked to declare their preferences for a primary, secondary and tertiary hub airport from the GardaWorld hub list at the commencement of their engagement. Where possible and commercially acceptable, GardaWorld will look to book travel to and from one of the preferred hubs.

The Contractor will be responsible for any travel arrangements between the hub airport and their home address.  The Company will pay for any transfers from the airport near the project location or such other intermediate landing location to the Consultant’s accommodations at the project.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent drafting and report-writing abilities.
• Strong presentation and briefing skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, charts, and data analysis).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of GIS and analytical tools such as Google Earth, ArcGIS, Tableau, or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and audiences.
• Physically capable of performing all duties associated with the position..

Essential Requirements:

• Minimum three-year university degree (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in a relevant discipline, or recognised police and/or military education, training, or equivalent qualification.
• Candidates who do not meet the educational requirement must possess a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in security reporting and analysis.
• English language proficiency at CEFR Level C1 or higher.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in the field of security analysis.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in an international operational environment (outside the applicant's home country).

Desirable:

• Previous analytical experience relating to political and security developments in Somalia.
• Prior experience working in Somalia or the wider Horn of Africa region.
• Experience supporting international organisations, government agencies, military, police, or security operations in high-risk environments.
• Experience working with multinational teams and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Additional language skills relevant to the operational environment.
• Previous military, police, or government security service experience.

Services

Services provided by the Contractor shall include, but not be limited to, the provision of security analysis, threat assessment, intelligence support, and reporting services to assist the Mission Security Analysis Officer (MSAO) in maintaining situational awareness and supporting operational decision-making.

The International Security Analyst shall:

• Monitor and analyse political, security, and operational developments affecting mission activities.

• Produce security reports, threat assessments, risk analyses, and intelligence summaries.

• Identify emerging threats, trends, vulnerabilities, and provide recommendations to mitigate risk.

• Support the Mission Security Analysis Officer (MSAO) with security analysis and reporting requirements.

• Prepare and deliver security briefings, presentations, and analytical products.

• Maintain situational awareness through information collection, research, and analysis.

• Utilise analytical and GIS tools, including Excel, Google Earth, ArcGIS, Tableau, and similar platforms.

• Support the development of security risk assessments and operational planning activities.

• Liaise with relevant stakeholders to gather, validate, and assess security-related information.

• Ensure all reporting is accurate, timely, and delivered in accordance with mission procedures.

• Undertake any other direction or reasonable request by GardaWorld management in accordance with contractual requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, and company policies.

This position is critical to supporting informed decision-making, enhancing operational resilience, and maintaining an accurate understanding of the security environment within a complex and high-risk operational setting.
